Jeremiah 3:15 (KJV)
And I will give you pastors according to mine heart, which shall feed you with knowledge and understanding.
Rev. Rayford Alexander Brown, Sr.

Pastor Rayford A. Brown, Sr. was born in Summerville, South Carolina on May 10, 1952 to Otis and Corine (Logan) Brown (both deceased). Upon graduating from Alston High School in June 1970 he entered the United States Army where he spent more than 23 years of active federal military service.

Pastor Brown is a born again Christian, an ordained Baptist minister and the founder of Rock of Faith Missionary Baptist Church of Indianapolis, Indiana and the Pastor and founder of Rock of Faith Community Christian Church, Summerville, South Carolina.  He was called to preach the Gospel of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at the early age of seventeen under the leadership of the Rev. Dr. Thomas Haynes Burns, at First Baptist Church of Summerville, South Carolina.

While serving his country as part of the United States Army Pastor Brown continued to serve God by preaching the Gospel and providing leadership to numerous churches throughout the United States and the Federal Republic of Germany.

Being led by the Spirit of God, Pastor Brown Organized Rock of Faith Missionary Baptist Church, Indianapolis, Indiana in March 1993.  The church conducted their services in the Basement of Lawrence Community Center for six years.  On the first Sunday in June 1999 Rock of Faith moved into their new church building.

Pastor Brown retired from the United Stated Army on March 1, 1994 after serving more than twenty-three years so that he could spend more time with his pastoral duties.  He is married to the wonderful, beautiful and supportive Aleatha Renee Brown and they have five children, Rayford Jr., Matthew, Marcus, Lester and Fallon.

While Serving in the Military Pastor Brown received numerous awards, certificates, letters of Commendation and Appreciation which include but not limited to the Army Service Medal, the Good Conduct Medal (7 awards), Army Commendation Medal (4 awards), Meritorious Service Medal (3 awards) and the Legion of Merit.

In June 2003 Pastor Brown received his Doctorate in Biblical Theology from Beulah Bible Seminary. Pastor Brown and his wife, First Lady Aleatha Renee Brown moved back to Summerville in September 2010 and organized Rock of Faith Community Christian Church on the second Sunday in September 2010.  Pastor Brown talked with his wife about what God had called them to do in Summerville and she said if that's what God has called us to do we have no choice but to obey His voice.  First Lady Brown pledged her support and they stepped out on faith.

Pastor Brown has been in the ministry for more than 45 years.  He has served as pastor of Greater Community Missionary Baptist Church, St. Roberts, Missouri, Rock of Faith Missionary Baptist Church, Indianapolis, Indiana and is currently serving as Pastor of Rock of Faith Community Christian Church, Summerville, South Carolina.

First Lady Brown, has been in ministry with her husband for more than eight years and has been a part of this ministry from the beginning.  "God has given Pastor Brown a larger vision: our current location is not where we will be forever. We are actively looking for a piece of land to build a church to have our own building so we can better serve the community.

One of Pastor Brown's favorite bible verses is Matthew 6:33 "seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness and all other things will be added unto you."  Pastor Brown truly believe that if you take care of God's business He will take care of your business.  Another of his favorite verses is Hebrews 11:1 "Now faith is assurance of things hoped for, proof of things not seen." Faith is perceiving as real fact that which has not been revealed to the senses. Pastor Brown tells his members all the time that our eyes have not seen our new church building yet but our souls have already taking possession of it, by faith we are already there."

Several years ago God gave Pastor Brown a vision and Rock of Faith started a "Coats for the winter" initiative to provide coats, hats and gloves for kids in the community.    Under Pastor Brown's leadership Rock of Faith also provides food baskets to the community, clothing, blankets and hygiene items for the homeless, and free cookouts.  Pastor Brown believes that we must work while it is day for night is coming when no man can work.

Pastor Brown loves people and loves helping people.  He understands that he must take the oversight of those whom the Holy Spirit has made him the overseer.  We've come this far by faith and faith will lead us on to greatness in Jesus Christ. To God Be The Glory!
