God's Word
Worship Service

Christ commanded that true worshipers worship in spirit and in truth (John 4:24).  The apostle Paul explained that we worship by the Spirit of God (Philippians 3:3) meaning that true worship comes only from those who have been saved by faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and have the Holy Spirit living in their hearts. Worshiping in spirit also means with the proper heart attitude, not simply adhering to rites and rituals. To worship in truth means worshiping according to what God has revealed about Himself in Scripture.

The first-century church engaged in several devotional acts in their worship services, from which we can determine what makes up a truly biblical worship service. The communion supper was
observed (Acts 20:7) prayers were offered up (1 Corinthians 14:15-16), songs were sung to the glory of God (Ephesians 5:19), a collection was taken (1 Corinthians 16:2), the Scriptures were read (Colossians 4:16), and the Word of God was proclaimed (Acts 20:7).

Without question, God, in His divine wisdom, has provided the perfect model of true biblical worship so that we can worship in a manner pleasing to Him. As we follow the course of true worship, let us worship God with great passion. We must not convey to the world the impression that the worship of our God is a boring, lifeless ritual. We have been redeemed from sin. Let us therefore praise our Creator as His children who are grateful for His bountiful blessings. "Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe" (Hebrews 12:28-29).

Sunday School

Sunday school is important in the spiritual development of Christians because it provides a forum for learning. This forum is comprised of students and teachers. Sunday School encourages spiritual interaction between the students and the teachers, as well as providing a comprehensive way of learning as a group. Ephesians 4:11, includes teachers within the five-fold ministry of the church. "And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers". Sunday School/Christian Education is a vital part of the anointing of this office and God's plan for the church. While the pastor is called to preach the Word unto Salvation, the teacher is called to bring further understanding of God's Word.
Sunday School sets the stage for better understanding. It is a comprehensive way of learning from one another and to receive encouragement to live by God's Word. Sunday School literature is usually designed to meet the needs of each specific age group, including singles, college/career and novice Christians. The curriculum completes the link between the teacher, the commentary writer and students. Curriculum may be formatted to meet specific topics or themes, relative to Christian faith. Sunday School attendance also provides an effective opportunity for Christian growth. Study materials can assist students and teachers in gaining revelation and understanding of the scripture text.
Sunday School is important because it provides additional opportunities in the fellowship for learning. Visitors, new attendees and other church members can get to know one another better in this setting. People in the community are looking for a real church with real people who care about them. Sunday School provides a great opportunity of developing friendships and trust, which tends to make attendees more committed to the church and its vision.
In conclusion, local pastors rely on the Christian Education Department to "fill the gap" to build strong support groups to effectively reach the community. Each class member has an opportunity to ask questions or express their viewpoints. The teachers have the opportunity to teach the word and explain the direction and vision of the church. Each class is an extension of the church as a whole and is committed to developing a strong body through spiritual growth. It is no surprise that most church problems are usually caused by those who are not connected to Sunday School or any other educational programs in the church.

Bible Study

One of the noblest pursuits a child of God can embark upon is to get to know and understand God better. The best way we can accomplish this is to look carefully at the book He has written, the Bible, which communicates who He is and His plan for mankind. There are a number of ways we can study the Bible, but one of the most effective and simple approaches to reading and understanding God's Word involves three simple steps:

Step 1: Observation-What does the passage say?
Observation is the first and most important step in the process. As you read the Bible text, you need to look carefully at what is said, and how it is said.

Step 2: Interpretation-What does the passage mean?
Interpretation is discovering the meaning of a passage, the author's main thought or idea. Answering the questions that arise during observation will help you in the process of interpretation.

Step 3: Application-How does it affects my life?
Application is why we study the Bible. We want our lives to change; we want to be obedient to God and to grow more like Jesus Christ. After we have observed a passage and interpreted or understood it to the best of our ability, we must then apply its truth to our own life.

(Praying Together And Sharing Victories)
Prayer is another area in which Bible Study can help you to grow. Afraid to pray out loud in a group? That's OK! No one will force you to pray out loud.  But as you listen to others sharing their hearts before God, you will be amazed at what the Spirit may prompt you to do. Week after week, as group members share answers to prayer, you'll be built up in your own personal ability to trust God to meet your needs. And as any small group veteran will tell you, the greatest blessing comes in ministering to the needs of another small group member. In addition, the Bible has specific things to say about the power of praying in a group. In Acts 12:1-18  we see that Peter was miraculously let out of prison by an angel as a small group gathered in a house and prayed for him. In time, you'll come to see your small group Bible study as a safe place to go when you hurt, as well as when you want to share exciting victories in your life.
